Sigrid Holmstrand

Biography

Sigrid is a Norwegian flautist from Mo i Rana, living in Bergen. She received her education at the Norwegian Academy of Music and the Hochschule für Musik in Munich and, since 2017, has been employed as the solo piccolo in the Bergen Philharmonic Orchestra. Her musical awakening began in the wind band environment at the age of 8, and she later, fittingly, secured her first permanent position in the Royal Norwegian Navy Band. In addition to her experience performing with the country’s orchestras, military bands, and chamber ensembles, Sigrid has a passionate commitment to chamber music.

She is now looking forward to performing Ravel in Rosendal alongside outstanding musicians and in a beautiful setting.
