Ida Aubert Bang

Biography

Ida Aubert Bang is the principal harpist of the Opera Orchestra at the Norwegian National Opera and Ballet, where she has held a permanent position since 2018. She has won several awards and grants and received her education from the Norwegian Academy of Music, studying under Willy Postma.

Alongside her work at the opera, she is a sought-after soloist and chamber musician and has participated in numerous recordings. She has performed as a soloist with the Norwegian Chamber Orchestra on tour in the USA and has appeared as both a soloist and chamber musician at festivals such as the Risør Chamber Music Festival, the Olavsfestdagene in Trondheim, and in the Norwegian Radio Orchestra’s chamber music series.

For many years, she has performed with all the professional orchestras in Norway, as well as the Gothenburg Symphony Orchestra and Philharmonia Zürich. She also regularly collaborates with ensembles such as Oslo Sinfonietta, Ensemble Ernst, and the Norwegian Chamber Orchestra.
