Hilde Haraldsen Sveen received her education from Agder Music Conservatory and the Hochschule der Künste Berlin.
In 2001, she made her debut at the Norwegian National Opera as Gilda in Rigoletto, and since then, she has performed several leading roles there, most recently as Sophie in Der Rosenkavalier.
Her versatility has made her a sought-after singer in various genres, including oratorio and romantic concert repertoire.
She has several CD releases featuring Norwegian music. Among her most recent recordings are “Skråblikk på Haugtussa” (2024) by Knut Vaage, released on Jansson Recordings, and soprano parts in several compositions by Ketil Hvoslef. These include Ketil Hvoslef Chamber Works II and III (2016) and Ketil Hvoslef Chamber Works IV (2019), both released on Lawo Classics.
Hilde Haraldsen Sveen is currently a professor of singing at the Grieg Academy – Department of Music, University of Bergen.
