The Manor from 1665

The Manor from 1665

To the Manor from 1665 between fjord, mountains, glacier and waterfalls. To the past in the present. To the fairy tale in reality. To a hidden treasure in Norway's cultural history, surrounded by wild and beautiful nature at the entrance to the Hardangerfjord. Experience Norway's only Barony, feel the scents of the blooming rose garden, the historical rustle between the magnificent trees. Visit the 17th-century manor and take a walk through different eras. Rooms, halls and atmosphere shaped by different owners over more than 250 years, preserved as the last owner left it to the Weiss-Rosenkroneske Foundation in 1927. Stories of love, war, joy and sorrow come alive during our guided tours several times a day.

Rosendal Gardens

Stroll through 300 years of garden architecture in Rosendal Garden; the Renaissance garden with its abundant rose beds, the romantic landscape park in the unique cultural landscape, and the mysterious stone tower that hides a story where it stands enthroned by the garden pond.

LEIF OVE ANDSNES PRESENTS HIS LAST ROSENDAL CHAMBER MUSIC FESTIVAL
The Rosendal Chamber Music Festival celebrates its final edition this August, returning to Norwegian roots and the local region of Hardanger, which inspired many artists, including, Edvard Grieg.

“It is with mixed emotions that I share with you that this year’s festival will be my last” says founder and artistic director Leif Ove Andsnes. “I look back with immense gratitude on a wonderful 10-year period, in which we have explored a wealth of repertoire and musical ideas in Rosendal.”

“It seems fitting that for our final festival, we take inspiration from the surrounding region of Hardanger, and celebrate three composers who have all had a close connection with this incredible landscape and its community.”

Wednesday 6th - Sunday 10th of August 2025
